175th Infantry Regiment Association
Frequently Asked Questions
Are you a military organization?
No, we are a certified Section 501 (c)(3) nonprofit charity through the IRS. Even though a majority of our current members have military service and our funds go directly to supporting the 175th Infantry Regiment, membership can be achieved by anyone who wants to help support our mission, no military service required!
What is your mission and how do you accomplish it?
The Association was stood up to assist past and present members of the 175th Regiment by connecting veterans and Service Members with needed resources, funding unit activities geared towards building esprit de corps, and providing a sense of community and belonging while keeping the traditions and history alive.
Our mission includes supporting our members who are serving or who have served in the 175th Infantry Regiment of the Maryland Army National Guard, whose lineage can be traced back to the Revolutionary War with roots from the Colonial era. Our goals include bringing Soldiers together for a sense of community, providing support for those least likely to ask for help, creating an intrinsic and external support system for Soldiers, and to ensure that funding is available to accomplish our mission. We believe that community involvement and good relationships are critical to maintaining a healthy mindset. We raise funds through events such as fun-runs, shooting competitions, raffles, and donations.
What can I do to help?
Donations are always welcome! However, we also want to involve our communities more with our Soldiers. We have found fun-runs, shooting competitions, and raffles to be crowd favorites. Partnering with local schools and sharing proceeds is also something we are working on. We believe in helping mentor and fostering a good sense of civics and citizenship. If you would like to partner with us, please reach out, we love our sponsors! Volunteers to help run these events are also always welcome! And don’t forget to tell your friends about us!
Are my donations tax-deductible?
Yes! The 175th Infantry Regiment Association is a certified Section 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity organization!
Where does my money go?
Various ways in which we have supported the Regiment include raising emergency funds for serving Soldiers’ families (loss of loved ones, destroyed homes, holidays), hosting events to bring Soldiers and local communities together (5ks, rucks, raffles, sharing proceeds with local schools), and celebrating our lineage and service through traditional military Dining Outs.
