175th Infantry Association conducts the First Annual Shotgun event at Loch Raven Skeet and Trap Club

After surveys to the Association members about events they would be interest in attending, the resounding response was a shotgun or range day event.

As a result, the Regimental Association organized a shotgun event with the support of the Loch Raven Skeet & Trap Center for Saturday 22 April 2023.

With the support of Mr. Michael Liebman from the Loch Raven club, along with LT Thacker from the Association, the event was organized in a fashion to allow anyone from the Association and family members to rent a shotgun, procure ammo and shoot a round of skeet under the expert eyes of range coaches, for a significantly reduced price.

President Laubach threw in by coordinating with vendors for some outstanding donated beer, and delicious pulled pork, and pulled chicken sandwiches also donated by Mission BBQ.

As a result, over fifteen members of the Association and guests attended and even a member of the Loyola ROTC program participated. Many old and new faces were present to dispatch clay pigeons and enjoy the comradeship of fellow members of the 175th Infantry Association.

Joseph Gutierrez set up a “Swag” table and conducted a raffle which garnered additional funds for the Association coffers.

Many “war stories” were recanted and a good time was had by all.

A quick AAR of the event reveals the desire to repeat the event on an annual or possibility semi-annual basis.
